Custom Steel Fabrication & Carbon Steel Plate

Madden Bolt does custom steel fabrication in carbon steel, brackets, weldments, sole plates, base plates, leveling plates, sleeves, pipe bollards, and structural shapes like angle, beam, channel, pipe, and flatbar, all cut, drilled, welded, and finished in-house. Because we’re AISC certified with a CWI on staff, every fabrication gets checked, signed, and traced back to the heat, built right the first time and galvanized in-house before it ships. Family-owned since 1988, and our lead times beat the industry.

What Is Custom Steel Fabrication?

Custom steel fabrication means turning raw carbon steel plate and shapes into a specific part built to a drawing, cut, drilled, welded, and finished to exact dimensions instead of pulled off a shelf. We fabricate miscellaneous carbon-steel components for industrial, infrastructure, and structural jobs, then hot-dip galvanize them in-house before they ship. We’re AISC certified with a Certified Welding Inspector on staff, so every fabrication gets checked, signed, and traced back to the heat.

Custom Steel Components We Fabricate

Every part out of our Houston shop is built to a drawing. The custom items we run most:

  • Brackets & weldments, fabricated connections and built-up assemblies
  • Sole plates, load-distribution plates under columns and equipment
  • Base plates, column and equipment base plates drilled to the bolt pattern
  • Leveling plates, precisely set bearing plates for level equipment mounting
  • Sleeves, pipe, anchor, and blockout sleeves cut and fabricated to spec
  • Structural shapes, beams, angles, and channels cut, coped, and drilled

A lot of these ship right alongside the bolts and embeds that hold them down. Add our custom anchor bolts and steel embeds and get the whole structural package as one source.

Cut, Drilled, Welded & Finished In-House

Carbon steel plate and shapes get burned and drilled to the drawing, welded by qualified welders, and finished in-house, nobody else touches it between the cut and the coat. Our high-precision plate cutting feeds the fab line, so the plate components and the assemblies built from them come out of the same shop. We work mostly in A36 carbon steel and step up to A572 Grade 50 when the spec wants more strength. For structural shapes we fabricate in A992 Grade 50 (wide-flange beams), A500 (HSS tube), and A53 (pipe), and we follow whatever grade your drawing calls out.

Every step’s in-house, so schedule and quality stay in one set of hands, and the finished part ships galvanized and traceable.

In-House Galvanizing & Corrosion Protection

Fabricated steel gets hot-dip galvanized in-house per ASTM A123 on the same property we built it. Our kettle has run next to the fab shop since 2007, so zinc thickness stays even lot to lot, one QC team owns the part from raw steel to finished, and there’s no outside schedule to wait on. Skipping the trip to somebody else’s galvanizer is the main reason our fabrication lead times beat the industry. More on our in-house hot-dip galvanizing services.

AISC Certified, Signed Off on Every Lot

We’re an AISC certified fabricator and an AWS CWF (Certified Welding Fabricator) with a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) on staff. Every fabrication gets checked, signed, and traced back to the heat, backed by mill test reports (MTRs). From the first cut through final galvanizing, the same quality team signs off on every lot. Custom Steel Fabrication FAQs

It’s cutting, drilling, welding, and finishing raw steel into a specific part built to a drawing, not something pulled off a shelf. For us that’s carbon-steel brackets, weldments, sole plates, base plates, leveling plates, sleeves, pipe bollards, and structural shapes like angle, beam, channel, pipe, and flatbar, each one built to the job’s exact dimensions and tolerances and finished in-house.

Carbon-steel brackets, weldments, sole plates, base plates, leveling plates, sleeves, pipe bollards, and structural shapes like angle, beam, channel, pipe, and flatbar, plus the anchor bolts, embeds, and rebar cages that go with them. If it can be burned and drilled out of carbon steel plate and shapes, welded, and galvanized, we’ll build it to your spec.

Yes. We’re an AISC certified fabricator and an AWS CWF (Certified Welding Fabricator), with a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) on staff. Every fabrication gets checked, signed, and traced back to the heat, and we’ll provide mill test reports (MTRs) on request.

Mostly carbon steel (A36 for general work, A572 Grade 50, A500, A53, and A992 Grade 50 when the drawing wants more strength) and whatever else your drawing calls out. Anchor bolts and rods we run alongside the steelwork come to ASTM F1554 and related specs.

Yes, in-house. Fabricated steel gets hot-dip galvanized per ASTM A123 on the same property we built it. Cutting, welding, and galvanizing all happen in-house, so there’s no outside-galvanizer hand-off, which is the main reason our fabrication lead times beat the industry.

A sole plate is a steel plate set under a column, machine, or equipment base to spread the load into the foundation. A leveling plate does the same job but gives you a precisely set, level bearing surface, usually dialed in with jam nuts on the anchor bolts. We fabricate both all the time, and they often ship together with the matching anchor bolts.
