Anchor Bolts for Power Generation

Madden Bolt supplies anchor bolts for power generation, combined-cycle plants, combustion turbine generators (CTGs), steam turbines, and solar generation. We fabricate high-strength anchor bolts to ASTM F1554 standards, A193 B7, and more, turbine and generator sole plates, steel embeds, and threaded rebar anchor cages, all hot-dip galvanized in our own shop. AISC certified, fully traceable, family-owned since 1988, with the best lead times in the industry.

Anchor Bolts for Power Generation Facilities

Anchor bolts for power generation hold down the machines that actually make the power, turbines and generators that hammer their foundations with dynamic load and can’t be allowed to walk out of alignment. From combined-cycle gas plants to utility-scale solar fields, we fabricate the high-strength anchor bolts, sole plates, steel embeds, and threaded rebar anchor cages those jobs run on, built to spec and hot-dip galvanized here before they ship.

CTG, Turbine & Generator Foundations

Combined-cycle and simple-cycle plants are built around their turbine-generator trains, and every train sits on a foundation that has to be anchored dead-on. We supply the whole connection:

  • High-strength anchor bolts, ASTM F1554 Grade 105 and A193 B7 for CTG, steam turbine, and generator foundations
  • Turbine and generator sole plates, machined-flat bearing surfaces for equipment leveling and alignment
  • Leveling plates and shims, for soleplate leveling under rotating equipment
  • Embedded plates and embed assemblies, for equipment and structural foundations
  • Complete assemblies, heavy hex nuts, jam nuts, washers, and setting templates kitted to the bolt schedule

Sole plates and leveling plates come out of our custom steel fabrication shop. For LNG export terminal CTGs and STGs specifically, see the LNG page; for refinery and process power islands, see petrochemical.

Galvanized anchor bolt sets with heavy hex nuts and square plate washers staged in racks in the shop.

Solar Generation: Threaded Rebar & Anchor Cages

Utility-scale solar is a fast-growing piece of power generation, and it anchors nothing like a turbine hall. Solar arrays ride on driven piles and drilled-pier foundations that lean heavily on threaded rebar and anchor cages. We fabricate threaded rebar from #3 through #18J, dual-thread bars, tie-down assemblies, and fully assembled anchor cages, welded and tagged in our Houston yard, then galvanized for buried and outdoor service. The full capability is on our threaded rebar & anchor cages page.

In-House Galvanizing, Traceability & AISC Certification

Power generation foundations take weather, humidity, and sometimes coastal salt air, and the procurement side wants paper to back it all up. We hot-dip galvanize anchor bolts, embeds, and rebar per ASTM A123, A153, F2329, and A767 on the same property we fabricated, with our kettle running next to the fab shop since 2007. We’re an AISC certified fabricator with a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) on staff, and every order is fully traceable, backed by mill test reports (MTRs). Power Generation FAQs

Combined-cycle and simple-cycle plants bolt combustion turbine generators (CTGs), steam turbines, and generators down to massive concrete foundations that take heavy dynamic load. That takes high-strength anchor bolts (usually ASTM F1554 Grade 105 and A193 B7) plus sole plates and embeds. We fabricate the whole foundation connection to your drawings.

Sole plates are the machined steel plates that go between a turbine or generator baseplate and its concrete foundation, giving the equipment a flat, level surface to bear on. Get the soleplate leveling right and the rotating gear stays true; get it wrong and you feel it. We fabricate sole plates and leveling plates in our custom fabrication shop and send them out with the anchor bolts and embeds for the same foundation.

Power generation is the broad grid-and-plant side, combined-cycle plants, combustion turbine generators, steam turbines, and solar with its threaded rebar anchor cages. LNG narrows to export terminals and the CTGs and STGs that drive liquefaction. The turbine anchoring overlaps, but power generation picks up the solar and grid-plant scope while LNG stays on the coastal export facilities.

Yes. Utility-scale solar runs on driven piles and drilled-pier foundations, and a lot of those rely on threaded rebar and anchor cages. We fabricate threaded rebar (#3 through #18J), dual-thread bars, and assembled anchor cages, then hot-dip galvanize them for buried and outdoor service.

Power generation foundations and anchors take humidity, weather, and in some spots coastal salt air. We hot-dip galvanize anchor bolts, embeds, and rebar per ASTM A123, A153, F2329, and A767 on the same property we made them, so the coating comes out consistent, one QC team follows it from raw steel to finished part, and there’s no outside galvanizer to schedule around.
