Anchor Bolts for Transmission & Infrastructure

Madden Bolt makes anchor bolts for infrastructure, transmission poles, substations, bridges, and highway structures. We build utility pole anchor cages, anchor bolts, and threaded rebar to ASTM F1554 and your spec, and hot-dip galvanize in-house so it holds up outdoors for decades. AISC certified, family-owned since 1988, and we ship nationwide.

Anchor Bolts for Infrastructure & Transmission Projects

Anchor bolts for infrastructure hold up the things that move power, traffic, and water across the country, transmission poles, substation equipment, bridges, highway structures. These anchors live outside for decades, half of them buried, taking wind, ice, and traffic load the whole time. We fabricate the anchor bolts and utility pole anchor cages these jobs run on, built to spec and hot-dip galvanized in-house before they ship.

Transmission Pole & Substation Anchor Cages

Transmission poles and substation steel sit on bolt circles and anchor cages, tight clusters of anchor bolts or threaded bars that have to match the base plate dead on. We fabricate and assemble:

  • Utility and transmission pole anchor cages, bolts or threaded bars welded into the correct bolt-circle pattern
  • Threaded rebar and dual-thread bars, #3 through #18J, with tie-down assemblies
  • Anchor bolts, for substation steel, dead-end structures, and equipment supports
  • Setting templates and leveling hardware, to position large bolt patterns during the pour

We assemble, weld, and tag the cages in our Houston yard, so they show up ready to drop in. Full capability is on our threaded rebar & anchor cages page.

Bridges & Highway Structures

Bridges, sign bridges, and highway structures use anchor bolts, embedded plates, and fabricated steel to tie members down to concrete piers and footings. We make the anchor bolts to ASTM F1554, the steel embeds and embedded plates, and the custom structural fabrication that goes with them, all galvanized for the long haul outdoors. In-House Galvanizing for Outdoor Exposure

These anchors are out in the weather for the life of the structure, and a lot of them get cast into concrete and soil. We hot-dip galvanize the bolts, cages, and threaded rebar in-house per ASTM A123 (fabricated steel), A153 (bolts, nuts, and washers), F2329, and A767 (rebar), on the same property we made the parts. Our kettle has run next to the fab floor since 2007, so coating thickness stays even and there’s no third party to wait on. More on our in-house hot-dip galvanizing.

We’re an AISC certified fabricator with a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) on staff, and every order traces back to the heat with mill test reports (MTRs) on request. See all industries we serve, including telecommunications tower foundations.

Infrastructure FAQs

Most of the time it’s a bolt circle or anchor cage, a cluster of high-strength anchor bolts or threaded bars laid out to match a steel or concrete pole’s base plate. We make utility pole anchor cages, anchor bolts, and threaded rebar to ASTM F1554 and your spec, then hot-dip galvanize them for decades of service outdoors and half-buried.

It’s a pre-built group of anchor bolts or threaded bars, held in the right bolt-circle pattern by welded rings or templates, set in the foundation before the pour. It holds every anchor where it belongs so the pole base plate drops right onto the bolts. We assemble, weld, and tag these cages in our Houston yard and build each cage to the approved drawing so it matches the base plate.

Transmission poles, substations, and bridges take weather for decades, and their anchors are usually half-buried in concrete and soil. Hot-dip galvanizing per ASTM A123, A153, F2329, and A767 puts a tough zinc coat on the bolts, cages, and threaded rebar. We galvanize in-house on the same property we fabricate, so there’s no outside shop holding up the order.

Anchor bolts in ASTM F1554 Grades 36, 55, and 105, diameters from 3/4 inch to 3 inches. Threaded rebar from #3 through #18J, and anchor cages out of #14J and #18J rebar, with dual-thread bars. A572 Grade 50, A500, A53, A992 Grade 50, and other grades are there when the structure spec asks for them.

We split them by structure type. Infrastructure is transmission poles, substations, bridges, and general highway structures. Transportation is the roadway side specifically, bridges, highway sign structures, and light and signal poles, a lot of it DOT work. Both run on anchor bolts and galvanizing, so pick whichever fits, or just send a drawing and we’ll quote it.

Yes. Transmission lines, substations, and bridges run coast to coast, and we ship anchor bolts, anchor cages, and fabricated steel nationwide out of our Houston shop.
